If there is a threat of severe weather in the area, and a NOAA Weather Radio is not within reach, there are several media outlets to keep an eye on the storms that are available on different platforms.

If conditions are favorable for severe weather for the next several hours, the Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma, will highlight the region in its daily Convective Outlook, and could possibly issue a Watch for several counties in the area. The National Weather Service – Birmingham office in Calera, Alabama, will issue any kind of warnings – tornado, severe thunderstorm, flash flood, etc. – if conditions deteriorate in Tuscaloosa County.
